Business Development Manager, UK and Europe

Primary Role

Due to continued investment in our proposition, we are looking for an experienced BDM to drive Corporate and Partner new business across the UK and Europe.  Working with corporate clients, insurers and medical assistance providers, the ideal candidate will be familiar with the travel risk management and security industry, and have a proven track record in new business development and relationship management.  The role forms part of our global sales and marketing function and will be based in our Bournemouth or London office.  The successful candidate will be required to drive top line revenue growth and play an active role in the on-going development of the business.

Responsibilities

The role will include the following responsibilities:
• Develop a deep understanding and knowledge of the Drum Cussac customer value proposition
• Research, evaluate and understand the changing dynamics and requirements of customers and partners, and ensure the wider business is briefed
• Actively own and manage the sales process for the identified prospect from Discovery through to Implementation, suggesting successful sales strategies and engaging with key internal stakeholders
•  Ownership of the RFP process, acting as Bid Manager for the RFP/RFI opportunities that are presented to the business
• Manage relationship as required, with key partners and clients
• Attend industry events and conferences to maximise networking opportunities

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Background in travel risk management or security is preferable, but wider understanding and knowledge of the medical and security assistance and insurance sectors is essential
• Proven experience of managing new business sales processes and achieving targets
• Previous experience of managing and writing bids, responding to RFPs and creating sales material (presentations)
• Excellent business development and relationship management skills in a either a B2B or Affinity sales channel
• Experience of selling IT platforms as part of a wider service proposition
• Highly analytical and investigative skills
• Self-starter and highly motivated
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Previous use of Salesforce

Reporting and Place of Work

This role will report directly to the Global Sales & Marketing Director and will be based in Bournemouth or London.
